Cupping the treatment ‘du jour’ for Olympians apparently!

This annoying piece by the Guardian is disappointing – advertising one of our mainstays of acupuncture practice for moving blood and tonifying the system – but casting a vague doubt on it as a trendy American modality.  There are no references to research and no interviews with the athletes, their physios or even quotes from Acupuncture Councils in the US and UK. but what do they say about all exposure is good marketing? Shame the Guardian couldn’t have done a better job …

Here meanwhile is largely gratuitous photo of the magnificent Michael Phelps – with cupping marks!
